“I am so thankful Mark was able to capture this moment with Lucy. This blonde tomboy who plays hockey with her brothers can also be obsessed with make-up, fashion and all things girl. As Lucy turns 11, I just want to hold on to her naive beauty forever and cherish her pure heart. When Mark displayed the images, my husband and I were blown away, and I was honestly moved to tears. These portraits capture all of who Lucy is.”

“As we watch our children grow it sometimes hits us hard, and we want time to slow down. Mark Brandes doesn’t just create a portrait but a piece of family history. A Brandes portrait is a work of art you will cherish for all time.”

Lucy Wigert at Thomas Riley Wilderness Park

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of photographing the Wigert family on a number of occasions. This year, we celebrated Lucy’s 11th birthday with a special portrait of her by herself (without those irritating brothers around, right Lucy?)

I can’t remember a Spring with as much color! What a blessing that was for our portrait work, but the only down side is that here in Southern California, that season of green is so short.

If it’s time for you to update your family portrait, or you would just like to honor one family member, I would love to help you do that.
